AdVance Partnership
Training for voluntary organisations, community groups & individuals throughout Southend
The AdVance Partnership is comprised of ourselves and Southend Community Action (recognised as Southend Association of Voluntary Services or SAVS).
We joined forces several years ago to effectively tackle the learning needs of local voluntary organisations and community group – a need that until then had been largely neglected. We are both well-established organisations, specialists in our field.
Since its early years, the partnership has gone from strength to strength, working with and in the community, assessing the learning requirements of local voluntary and community groups and delivering high quality training programmes to meet their needs.
By developing a range of skills – administrative, practical and personal – the aim is to enable both individuals and organisations from a wide variety of charitable and community groups and encompassing volunteers, committee members, trustees and paid employees to work more confidently and efficiently with and on behalf of their own clients.
Our aims and objectives are to:
- Provide community based learning opportunities for the voluntary sector
- Tailor all courses to the voluntary sector perspective
- Develop new ways of delivering training
- Enhance voluntary sector skills by a focused programme based on their identified needs
- Provide learning through networking and sharing of experience
- Provoke thought on current practice with the emphasis on quality services
- Inspire & motivate volunteers, committee members and employees
- Most importantly, to hear, listen and respond to the needs of the voluntary and community sector
