Case Study 3: Mark Whitton
Age: 42
Course undertaken: Introduction to Anatomy & Physiology"I trained to be a Financial Adviser but needed to find myself a new career path to follow. Sadly, I’m loosing my sight so I’ve had to start considering other work possibilities.
I’ve always been interested in Complementary Therapies and thought this interest could be the key to my new career.
I enrolled on the beginner’s course in Anatomy & Physiology here at the College last year and it has truly inspired me. Since the first day I got in touch with the College, I’ve experienced nothing but help from everyone I’ve met. It’s such a welcoming place and my tutor did absolutely everything possible to include me in all of the lessons. My guide dog, Lucy, was made to feel really welcome here too.
Now I’ve completed the introductory course, I’ll be starting the ITEC Diploma in Anatomy & Physiology in September. This is the qualification I’ll need to pursue my career in Complimentary Therapies. I’ll also be running a Reflexology course alongside to start building on my therapy skills.
I now feel well on the way to launching my new career. The College has helped me to feel positive about my future and I’d genuinely recommend it to anyone and everyone. It is an inspirational place."
