The Launch
On Monday 27th April a photoshoot took place identifying the first 3 role models - Rhys Duffy, Checkwe Ayema and Justin Thame of Southend Adult Community College. These three individuals struggled with the mainstream school system, which caused later difficulties in moving on in education, employment or training. By dedication, hard work and efforts they have succeeded in each turning their lives around through participating in a unique learning programme called Xtra-Time, run in conjunction with Southend United Football Club. The programme combines practical and sports qualifications (football coaching) with academic issues, numeracy, literacy etc.
