Helping you get the most out of everyday life

ePortfolio Enabled

Functional Skills are a new type of qualification. They are designed to help you build the practical skills you need to get the most out of work, education and everyday life.

They are practical skills in English, maths and information and communications technology (ICT) and they are not just about what you know in English, maths and ICT, they are also about knowing when and how to use that knowledge in real life situations.

You will need to take a test for each seperate subject to get your qualification. Functional Skills qualifications count towards other qualifications, including Diplomas and Apprenticeships. They are also a major part of GCSEs and the Foundation Learning Tier.

Qualifications are offered at Entry Level, Level 1 and Level 2 and you will be assessed mainly by completing a set of practical tasks, in a set time limit.
