Passport 2 Learn students help in national brochure

Young mums' in key role to helps others

ePortfolio Enabled

Teenage mums from the College have played a key role in creating a brochure for a nationwide charity-funded project aimed at helping young people in similar situations.

The students on the Passport 2 Learn scheme have designed a six session programme, based on their own experiences, to help other young mums broaden their life skills.  Experience in life, including domestic violence, has enabled the students to design and create a course relavant to exploring volunteering.  The glossy 'curriculum toolkit', provided by UK Youth, provides a framework of practical ideas to guide Youth Service professionals and young mums not in education, training or employment (NEET).

The students are now working on other projects and The Passport 2 Learn scheme, aimed at 16-19 year olds including young mums, has been hailed an outstanding success at the College.
