Our Pledge - The Learning Revolution
Recognising our role as Personal and Community Development Learning (PCDL) leader within the Local Authority, Southend Adult Community College has signed the Learning Revolution Pledge.
This demonstrates our commitment to bringing the new vision for informal adult learning to life. We will fulfil the expectations of the Learning Revolution’s Open Space Movement by offering greater access to our buildings for Informal Learning groups from public, private, voluntary and community sectors, for the following uses: 
- Regular meetings
- Special events
- Exhibitions (in our bespoke gallery space)
- Information and recruitment fairs
- Performance
- Cross-cultural links
Through our strong community links we hope to attract disengaged and diverse social groups breaking down boundaries to further learning. By signing this pledge we are addressing two key agendas initiated by the government in the UK, the Skills Agenda and the Community Cohesion Agenda.
