The College has got Talent

Performing Arts Concert

The main hall at Belfairs School will be packed next Friday 7th May, with an audience eagerly awaiting our annual Performing Arts Concert.

 

Now in its 12th year, the Annual Concert is put on by the College’s students with learning difficulties and disabilities.

 

Many enthusiastic students have been rehearsing for the past six months in preparation for this year’s performance, which is entitled ‘The College has got Talent' and follows the format of a number of very popular TV talent search shows.

 

The students are from a variety of classes at the College including ‘Fitness & fancy footwork’, ‘Performing Arts’, ‘Drama Workshops’, ‘Making Music’ and ‘Print, Stitch & Dye’.  The props for the show are all made by students from the ‘Arts Projects’ class.  Work from students on the ‘Smile Please!’ photography course will also be exhibited.

 

Over the years, some 150 different learners have been involved in the show itself, plus many more help out with the props, programmes and advertising.

 

Annie Clarke, head of Learning Support at the College, say's “It is a really fantastic evening, from start to finish.  Come along with your family and support our student's, it's free and kids really do love it!
